hen its owners opened the first Bangus Restaurant at the Crosswalk Arcade in Greenhills in 1982, little did they know that they were about to set off a long-running love affair with Filipino foodlovers.
Sisters Erlinda Yap, Diana Santamaria and Ruby Borja were well aware that Bangus faced stiff competition from the slew of other Filipino-themed restaurants present in Manila's dining scene back then. But they also knew that they had one very important thing going for them - an all-consuming passion for creating good food. Being Capampangans, they grew up knowing the kitchen like the back of their hand.
And so open Bangus Restaurant they did.
Within a very short time, people started noticing the newest place on the block where the people were warm and friendly and the food incomparably delicious. They started buzzing amongst themselves about this quaint little place in Greenhills where the freshest bangus were served in the most unique and appetizing ways. Word got around about this new restaurant which cooked up such mouth - watering delicacies as Sinigang na Bangus Belly, Pina putok na Tina pang Bangus, and a lot more. Pretty soon, Bangus Restaurant had built up an army of loyal followers.
Twenty nine years later, the world has changed much, but Bangus remains the favorite of haven of those who can only be satisfied by food without equal. And so they continue to dine at Bangus - celebrities, politicians, office folks, whole families - everyone brought together by a common love for great Filipino cooking.
